Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Finance professional with a passion for innovation and technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and operations, combined with experience in a scale-up ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

What the role will focus on:

  • Financial strategy: develop and implement a financial strategy, review the legal framework
  • Planning and forecasting: set financial planning, budgeting, and accurate forecasting aligned with the strategy of LocalStack
  • Reporting: accurate and timely submission for statements, VAT, etc. Ensure the regulatory requirements are met. Collaborate with external partners (US). Transparent reporting to stakeholders
  • Team leadership: Ensure a collaborative and productive culture in the team (grow the team as needed)

Strategic Financial Leadership:

    • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with LS growth goals
    • Provide comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning to guide long-term decision-making.
    • Set budget for each department.
    • Support the business expansion and new market entry from finance and legal framework set up, related processes and reporting

Financing and Capital Structure:

    • Prepare the financial reporting for investor meetings
    • Ensure the right metrics in reporting

Financial Governance and Compliance:

    • Ensure efficiency and improve financial policies, systems, reporting, and controls that align with regulatory and investor standards across relevant geographies
    • Ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting to support confidence among stakeholders.
    • Advise on risk management and mitigation strategies to safeguard financial health.

Collaboration with Leadership:

    • Partner with the Founders to shape strategic initiatives and roadmap planning.
    • Enhance and support internal communications regarding financial health and strategic priorities (if needed)

Performance and Impact Measurement:

    • Lead the design and monitoring of financial KPIs and other performance metrics that drive accountability and growth.
    • Facilitate data-driven decision-making and ensure that finance plays a proactive role in influencing business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • recent hands-on experience
  • experience in a smaller company, where the person had responsibility end to end
  • (bonus) international startup experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting.
  • ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 5+ years of financial management in a senior role.
  • Expertise in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with Swiss GAAP FER, IFRS, and local tax regulations.
  • Strong understanding of Swiss tax regulations, including VAT and Corporate income tax.
  • Experienced in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including consolidated.
  • Proficiency in financial forecasting, long-term financial modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Experience with designing and enforcing efficient budget allocation processes.
