Role Specifics

The Director of People leads the strategy, development and execution of People programs, processes and practices, with the goal of helping MileIQ maintain a healthy and magnetic culture. We’re looking for someone who’s forward-thinking and innovative but also knows when to stick with best practices. We’re global, hybrid and remote, so experience with a variety of geographies and location strategies is key. This position reports to our Head of Finance, People, and Operations.

Compensation Range: 156k - 212k + Stock Options

Location: Remote US or our San Francisco office

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive People strategies that align with our business objectives, current company needs, and cultural ambitions.
  • Oversee all aspects of the People function, including but not limited to talent acquisition, total rewards, talent management, learning and development, compliance, employee relations and HRIS/Systems.
  • Hire, manage and develop a high-performing People team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and belonging.
  • Design and deliver engaging and timely learning and development programs.
  • Support MileIQ leadership in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and policies, mitigating legal risks and maintaining a safe and fair workplace.

Requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven Track Record: At least 10 years of progressive People Team experience, with 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience successfully building the People function in an early-stage, growing company. Tech industry is a plus!
  • Global Mindset: Experience leading the People function in a global company. Understands the nuances of managing a distributed workforce across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Culture Champion: Proven ability and passion for developing and implementing innovative People strategies that build and strengthen a positive, inclusive culture.
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated strength in leadership and problem-solving skills with a strong understanding of best practices, emerging trends, and legal requirements. Understands how to align people-related initiatives with the company's broader goals and objectives.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to establish trust with team members at all levels.
  • Self Starter: Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
