As the Director Project Management, Enterprise PMO, you will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and overseeing all aspects of projects within multiple business units to ensure timelines and budgets are being met with a high standard of quality. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Directly oversee and support a portfolio of projects being implemented in the enterprise
  • Manages resource allocation for project work as well as manages hiring and staffing plans according to budget to ensure the project work can be performed successfully and works to ensure projects are allocated based on experience and development opportunities.
  • Manage, develop and support a team of project managers with varying skill sets and experience
  • Build relationships across the enterprise to be able to effectively remove roadblocks in the delivery project requirements
  • Develops clear and concise change management strategies and assist with bringing all team members along in the change management plan of action.
  • Develops and implements best practices and tools to increase efficiency, boost productivity, and achieve project and business goals.
  • Acts as liaison with clients regarding GXO project management and implementation practices. Builds rapport and strong working relationships with internal and external customers to handle escalations based on resources constraints, process questions and exceptions needed.
  • Track and report overall progress of all projects in your assigned portfolio to the executive leadership internally and external customer
  • Design, develop, implement and improve processes for the enterprise project management office
  • Implement and manage project governance standards for project delivery across the enterprise
  • Assist in the creation of the EPMO strategy to move the team to the next level of execution

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 12-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management in a distribution center environment
  • Experience leading large-scale, multisite and/or multiregional transformational projects, supply chain experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building high performing project management teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with diverse personalities
  • Solid project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
  • Experience with Smart sheets or other PPM software
  • PMP certified
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
