Reporting to the Specialty Operation AVP, the Claims Special Investigations Director has the responsibility of shaping and driving the performance of our claims special investigations organization through projects, processes, or both. This key role is responsible for end-to-end orchestration and operational leadership of the special investigations function at SageSure, enabling both tactical and strategic business value delivery. This role also includes partnering with key stakeholders as a part of roadmap development, communication, execution, and monitoring. Significant interaction across our organization up to and including executive leadership is to be expected.  

What you'd be doing:

  • Program Ownership
  • Own and coordinate the roadmap for both special investigations program development, maintenance, and performance.
  • Identify, scope, and execute processes/projects (both strategic and tactical) in support of the special investigations program roadmap.
  • Coordinate and manage top impact special investigations processes/projects in conjunction with senior executive level objectives.
  • Assist in managing the overall intake and capacity management of special investigations program related work.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive fraud training and SIU quality programs.
  • Expertise in establishing and upholding compliant SIU guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience with digital fraud detection programs.
  • Accountable for overseeing and managing the Subrogation and Salvage program.
  • Operational Leadership
  • Attract and hire top investigator talent as the SageSure special investigation function grows at scale.
  • Manage the day-to-day task execution of hired investigators.
  • Leverage the latest in fraud detection, prevention, and prediction technologies to enhance field and desk investigator effectiveness
  • Collaborative Partnership
  • Manage the alignment of special investigations program related processes/projects with other claims programs to ensure strong partnerships between claims optimization, quality, and operations organizations.
  • Plan and lead communication methods necessary to ensure awareness across the organization as it relates to special investigations program delivery and maintenance timelines.
  • Leverage insights and knowledge within frontline claims optimization, quality, and operations organizational people and processes to deliver the highest level of value delivery possible.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years claims experience including time working in or partnering with a special investigations department
  • 3+ years’ experience establishing and fostering key vendor partnerships.
  • Proven ability to provide data requirements to analytic partners and ingest/leverage/relay data driven insights.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across technical and business-oriented stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead department-wide efforts with limited oversight
  • Excellent ability to coordinate people, with high energy and a sense of urgency.
  • 3+ years claims staff/support experience with a special investigations department
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • Insurance related certifications
  • Master’s degree or actively pursuing.
  • Experience working with project organization and analytics tools such as Confluence, Jira, SmartSheet, Domo, or similar
