We are looking for an Engineering Manager who wants to join and lead our team that researches, develops and maintains features our biggest users are willing to pay for.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their professional growth, while actively participating in hiring and conducting performance reviews.
  • Drive architectural decisions (with a heavy emphasis on the backend) and ensure high-quality standards, engineering best practices, and operational excellence within the team, balancing hands-on work with managerial duties.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design and the rest of the engineering teams.
  • Act as a technical leader, fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and learning within the engineering team, while also contributing to improving engineering culture and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and developing a high performing engineering team, driving technical descussions with a desire to still be hands on and code.
  • You are a builder both of teams and products at heart. You deeply care about the end user, making sure that the rest of the team does too.
  • Demonstrate an agile mindset, proactiveness, and adaptability to changing priorities, with a strong emphasis on iterative problem-solving.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js & Typescript, with at least 5 years of experience, preferably on a cutting-edge tech product
  • Solid skills in relational database design, SQL programming (SQLite, PostgreSQL)
  • Extra credit:
    • Familiarity with cloud computing (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps knowledge, and/or experience with Vue.js
    • Passionate about automation
