    Engineering Manager, RC Capital

    RevenueCat
    Full-time
    Verified Remote
    EMEA, LATAM, Canada, USAUSD 230,000 - 230,000ProgrammingToday

    About this role

RevenueCat removes the headaches of building and scaling in‑app subscriptions. Since graduating from YC’s S18 batch we’ve grown into the default monetization platform for mobile: we’re in >40% of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $12B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo dev in Brazil to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.

We’re a remote‑first crew of 150+, spread across 25+ countries, and guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance. If you want your work to touch hundreds of millions of end‑users (and help the developers behind them get paid), you’ll fit right in.

    The role:

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead engineering for RC Capital - a zero-to-one team on the ground floor of a brand-new business line. You'll help design, build, ship, and support the infrastructure behind Early Payouts and whatever we build next: underwriting and risk monitoring, money movement and reconciliation, partner bank integrations, and fraud detection. This role blends the technical depth of our core Engineering Manager bar with direct exposure to financial products — factoring, underwriting, risk, banking integrations — so a background in fintech, financial services, or a related regulated/risk-sensitive domain is essential.

Please note: although we're fully remote, this team is based across US and European time zones, so there's some expectation of overlap in working hours.

    About you:

You have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.

You have 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.

You have experience working cross functionally to build prioritized roadmaps for your teams.

You can balance shipping new features, managing tech debt and investing in system improvements.

You are hands-on and perform code reviews and bug investigation when needed.

You are comfortable writing SQL queries to analyze data and find inconsistencies.

You work with your team to ensure that they are consistently producing value and quality software through shorter iterative development cycles.

You work with your team to improve the quality of our products, ensuring that they meet product requirements, customer needs, and SLAs.

You provide technical leadership to the team and can work with engineers to help guide them into important technical decisions.

You have experience working with engineers at different levels and have coached them in their career development.

You are customer obsessed, prioritizing their outcomes and experiences

    Responsibilities:

Build and lead a highly engaged distributed team by hiring, supporting, coaching the team to deliver consistently and continuously seek ways to make an impact.

Work cross functionally primarily with product, design and support teams to set direction for the team, anticipate strategic and scaling related challenges through thoughtful long term planning

Work with your team on the iterative execution of the roadmap and build efficient & transparent processes for consistent and predictable delivery.

Coach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development.

Work with other engineering managers to continuously improve our organization & create a strong sense of ownership, belonging and inclusivity.

    In the first month, you'll:

Get up to speed on our current technical projects

Meet every contributor on your team and understand what their areas of expertise are

Meet EMs and PMs from other teams to understand what those teams are doing.

Work with your team and understand how we do iterative development and the team processes

Collaborate with your design and product peers to understand current team priorities.

Schedule 1:1’s with your team to get to know them better

Within the first 3 months, you'll:

Have shipped your first big feature and learned about what worked (and what didn't)

Collaborate with the product and design team and deliver quarterly planning

Understand how RevenueCat is used by customers and the areas of focus for your team to help build a better customer experience.

Work with your team to define milestones and deliverables and ensure that the team is shipping iteratively.

Understand the short and long term goals of your team, and help them with their career planning and progression

Work with the recruiting team and your peers to hire for the company.

Within the first 6 months, you'll:

Have established and refined processes to enable shipping fast and reliably

Understand the team dynamics and be able to predict team capacity around project execution and are now planning ahead for the team

Champion technical improvements and debt reduction alongside feature development

Be part of technical discussions and guide the team to come to an optimal solution

Within the first 12 months, you'll:

Have built domain knowledge and can easily debug, route and prioritize any incoming triage issues

Have established clear communication guidelines within the team to enable open and honest communication

Have helped bring in the right talent to RevenueCat through interviews, sourcing and screening for candidates who are aligned with our company values

Have built trust with the team through relationship building, mentoring and coaching and providing them opportunities and timely feedback to help them grow

Have a thorough understanding of how our product works and are able to communicate and guide the team in planning and prioritizing work and finding opportunities

    What we offer:

Competitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator

10-year window to exercise vested equity options

Fully remote and flexible work environment

4-5 weeks of suggested time off annually for mental, physical, and emotional recharge

$2,000 USD for workspace setup and $1,000 USD annual stipend for continuous learning
