Engineering Manager (Risk Engineering)

About the role

Flex is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Risk Engineering team to build the risk platform that helps us to effectively manage and mitigate risks associated with our products and policies.

What you’ll do:

• Provide technical vision and strategy for building Risk platforms that scale ahead of business needs
• Collaborating closely with our Product, Policy, and Operation teams to build a deep understanding of business and regulatory needs
• Translating these business requirements into clear technical designs and actionable engineering tasks
• Acting as a bridge between engineer teams and non-technical stakeholders
• Communicating and aligning project goals, deliverables and expectations across stakeholders
• Overseeing the planning and prioritization of project tasks, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and timely delivery of projects
• Providing mentorship and support to team members, and providing opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement for the team

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor or above degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years of proven experience in engineering management.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in Risk engineering is required.
• Ability to work on a globally distributed team with a high degree of ownership
• Experience leading the delivery of multiple highly impactful products end to end, on time with a high-quality bar
• Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, successfully aligning and setting expectations on scope and delivery
• Ability to drive yourself and your teams to bring quality and consistency to their code and architecture, without compromising velocity
• Ability to grow in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that will challenge you to always bring your best
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Core Competencies:

• Experience working on AWS cloud-based infrastructure.
• Has proven experience in building Risk models/rules/engines to support fraud detection, Delinquency Rate cure, and related domains.
• Hands-on at least one program language, Java or Python, and familiar with SQL, NO-SQL

The national pay range for this role is $218,000-$234,000 in base salary. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
