The TV Release Quality team is dedicated to understanding and ensuring the quality of our flagship TV streaming application, allowing us to deliver a stunning experience to members across the globe.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who is passionate about quality to lead the TV Release Quality team. The TV Release Quality team is dedicated to testing, measuring, understanding, and communicating the overall quality of our TV streaming application both before and after it is released to production. The team will focus on improving and innovating in the spaces of our test automation framework, metrics, observability, and alerting. This team will also set a strategic vision for test automation and quality in the TV space, collaborating with stakeholders and partners across Netflix.

About the role

  • Build and lead a team of senior UI engineers who value inclusion, transparency, autonomy, and humility.
  • Set a strategic vision for test automation and quality in the TV space.
  • Collaborate, build alignment, and develop strong relationships with engineering partners across client, server, and productivity teams.
  • Effectively identify, prioritize, and manage high-impact initiatives on the team’s technical roadmap.
  • Empower, challenge, and coach team members to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback.
  • Exemplify the Netflix culture by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values.

What sets you apart

  • 5+ years of building and leading high-performance UI client engineering teams with high degrees of psychological safety.
  • Proactively gives and receives feedback; is not afraid to have difficult conversations.
  • Seeks different perspectives and relevant context to effectively navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience crafting and implementing a successful quality strategy for UI products
  • Familiar with the needs of automation infrastructure, observability, and alerting that supports a large and growing group of UI engineers across multiple teams.
  • Ability to build and own a technical roadmap that serves TV UI engineers across multiple teams.
  • Familiar with general Javascript development as well as test libraries and frameworks such as Puppeteer and Jest.
  • Human-centric leader who centers empathy and welcomes feedback.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to actively listen, adapt to different styles, and establish best practices for a hybrid-remote work environment.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $190,000 - $920,000.
