Estimator

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking an Estimator based remotely in the Southeast (Florida or Georgia). This role will report directly to the Sr. Manager Estimating and work closely with Sales representatives, customers, design professionals, customer service, technical support, engineering and other Automated Access Solutions (AAS) team members. The Estimator is responsible for or working in partnership with the team in determining project timelines and deliverables.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $70,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Ability to read, comprehend, evaluate, and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and addenda
• Review for familiarization; check for accuracy and completeness; note bid deadlines and document any special requirements
• Review project interpretations with Sales, Installation, Customer, or design professionals. Secures any necessary assistance from Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support, Product Management, Engineering or other dormakaba functions to ensure product applications in the proposal are complete, and both technically and contextually accurate
• Evaluate project documentation and identifies applicable portions for dormakaba involvement and opportunity. Prepare assessments of any technical, financial, schedule or other risk exposures
• Plan, organize, prioritize, control, and execute the estimating effort in accordance with dormakaba policies and procedures in a business-like, efficient, productive and organized manner
• Review scope of work with customer pre-bid and post-bid to determine accurate scope of work and competitive position
• Compares actual and estimated materials on completion of each project
• Responsible for complete takeoffs and costing of all products, components, assemblies, parts and accessories
• Perform labor cost interpretation and estimates based on scope of work and complexity
• Create accurate and detailed submittal packages. Manages submittal approval process through to Project Management handoff
• Prepare estimates for project change orders as required, providing detailed supporting documentation as needed

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• 2-3 years Construction estimating / project management experience
• Experience and knowledge of CRM systems

• Experience in the architectural building materials or construction industry
• Salesforce
