Job Description

Events Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: United Kingdom

Reporting To: VP of Marketing

Compensation: ÂŁ50,000 / year

Description

Hello 👋 I’m Kristin, VP of Marketing at Pinpoint.

We’re a high-growth, bootstrapped HR-tech start-up building and selling software that helps in-house recruitment teams attract, hire, and onboard the right talent. Today, we have a strong foundation in place, with a mature product, strong product-market fit, and happy customers.

We’ve started to see traction from our early experiments with events, and we’re looking for an Events Marketing Manager to scale up our event plans in the US and UK. You’ll take ownership for delivering a range of high-quality experiences for our prospects, customers, and partners.

A few things to note before applying:
  • You will manage events in the UK and the US. This means you’ll need to travel to the US regularly. You’ll help us decide how many US events to do, but we estimate it could be up to 6-12 visits per year.
  • This remote role allows you to work from anywhere in the UK. Our HQ is in Jersey, UK, and we have a distributed remote team across the UK and the US.
  • We’re in an extremely crowded industry and we have to be more creative than our competitors. We cannot succeed by doing the same things everyone else is doing.
  • You’ll be joining a team of 4 marketers—we’re a small team with lots to do. We hire people with broad skillsets who jump in and figure things out on their own rather than waiting on someone else.
  • We don’t know everything about events yet. We want you to come in with ideas and be ready to teach us how to make our events better and more scalable.
  • You’ll be our only team member dedicated to events and you’ll report directly to me, the VP of Marketing.
  • You can learn more about our Revenue team, tech stack, and more here.

About the Role:

  • Plan and execute everything end-to-end for a wide range of events—from 10-person dinners to our booth at a 5,000-person conference
  • Deeply understand our brand, values, and target audience, and use this knowledge to shape events our attendees love
  • Manage our events budget and maximize the impact we get from the spend, rather than just doing things as cheaply or as expensively as possible
  • Forecast and track the outcomes of events in terms of leads, brand awareness, and partner referrals, and continuously look for ways to improve the results
  • You’re happy to jump in and do whatever it takes to make events successful—if that means researching attendees, chasing a vendor, or brainstorming ideas for swag
  • Manage vendors, including reviewing contracts, negotiating pricing, tracking deliveries, and coordinating deadlines
  • Collaborate with every team in the business to produce events that deliver leads, brand awareness, partner engagement, and customer delight
Tech stack: Hubspot, Wordpress, Ahrefs, Descript, Figma, Asana, GSuite, Slack, Notion.

About You:

  • Demonstrated 3+ years of work experience in events marketing within small company or startup environments.
  • Adaptability to navigate ambiguity and an ability to find a way to get things done even when it feels hard.
  • Versatility in managing various event scales, ranging from intimate dinners to expansive conferences.
  • Proficiency in design discernment, capable of independently sourcing appealing branded materials and providing constructive feedback to design agencies for larger projects.
  • Possession of a T-shaped skillset, with a primary focus on event planning complemented by a breadth of knowledge across related areas.
  • Aptitude for seamlessly transitioning between analytical and creative modes, adeptly handling tasks such as budgeting, contract review, and brainstorming for event activations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills enabling the simultaneous management of numerous event details across multiple projects.
  • Based in the UK with the capacity to travel to the US 6-12 times annually.

What We Offer:

We’re committed to being an exceptional workplace and company you are proud to work for. To that end, we offer some great benefits, including:
  • Gold-plated healthcare: Enjoy the best medical, dental, and optical coverage money can buy. We've got you and your family covered for all eventualities
  • Unlimited holidays: Everyone needs a healthy, happy, and productive life without restrictive holiday limits
  • Mental health support: Unlimited and immediate access to counseling for any employees via Spill.

  • Flexible, remote working: Enjoy the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to find your most productive environment while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Meaningful equity: You’ll contribute to the team's success and deserve to share in it. To that end, everyone on our team gets a meaningful equity allocation.
  • Generous paid parental leave: To help support new parents in the workplace, we offer up to 16 weeks of paid leave.
  • Learning budget: Annual funds are made available to support both your personal and professional development.
  • Top-of-the-line equipment: We’ll set you up with the right tools to do your best work—starting with a MacBook Pro, 4K monitors, and the right software to get the job done.
  • A team that cares: You’ll be joining a team of intelligent, capable, and helpful people that want you to win, our clients to be wowed, and our business to grow.
