About you

You’ll be joining the Financial Control team as a Finance Manager. Reporting to the Financial Control Manager, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.

You will play a key role in the Financial Control team, managing a team of 2 part qualified accountants, maintaining accurate books and records for the ClearBank Group of companies, adhering to a robust control framework. You will actively work with peers across the wider Finance function to deliver ClearBank’s external reporting requirements. You will oversee the development of two junior team members, building the Financial Control of the future.

You will be

  • Playing a key role in the Financial Control team delivering an efficient, timely and controlled month-end financial close process
  • Assisting in the preparation of variance analysis to explain month-on-month movements as well as actuals against forecast differences, providing detailed written commentary to support the month end close meetings
  • Preparing and reviewing accurate balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are communicated and thoroughly investigated and resolved
  • Assisting in the preparation of accurate pre month end flash reporting of income and expenses for the Financial Planning & Analysis and Commercial teams
  • Assisting with the annual audit process, ensuring Financial Control related audit deliverables are provided in a timely manner
  • Adhering to the Financial Control robust internal controls and procedures to protect financial data and data integrity, embedding controls within the Financial Control team culture
  • Participating in various ad hoc financial reporting projects as needed, such as process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes as ClearBank expands into Europe and other countries
  • Managing the training requirements of two junior accountants, implementing a development plan for team members to ensure sufficient contingency planning and mitigating key person dependencies

Requirements

What we are looking for

  • Qualified accountant with post qualified experience of financial control month end processes is essential
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of risk and controls self-assessment procedures is essential
  • Experience working in a finance role within the banking/payments/fintech sector
  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • Ability to explain complex accounting principles in an easy to understand way
  • Time management, analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Prior experience of Dynamics 365 is advantageous
  • An effective team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond effectively to shifting priorities
