    Job Summary:

    SmithRx is looking for an exceptional Finance Operations Analyst/ Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, this role will be an essential operational owner within our day-to-day accounting functions. You will take ownership of key operational functions including corporate tax compliance, cash reconciliations, corporate card management, and member reimbursements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to drive core accounting workflows to execution.

    What you will do:

    • Indirect Tax Filing: Prepare indirect tax filings accurately and timely.

    • State Registration Filings: Work with the company’s filing agent to ensure various state reports are filed accurately and timely.

    • Member Reimbursements & Escheatment: Own the member reimbursement process, including processing physical checks, performing month-end reconciliations of the outstanding check list, and managing the company’s escheatment process.

    • Cash Management & Reconciliations: Clear daily cash transactions and prepare comprehensive month-end cash account reconciliations.

    • Corporate Credit Card Program: Manage corporate credit card activity by coding and booking expenses accurately and performing month-end card reconciliations.

    What you will bring to SmithRx:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • 1–3 years of hands-on corporate accounting or operational accounting experience.

    • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (US GAAP) and general ledger operations.

    • Demonstrated proficiency with cash reconciliations, expense processing, and multi-state/corporate compliance tasks.

    • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet key monthly deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Excellent communication skills with a track record of effective collaboration across internal teams and third-party vendor partners.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and experience with/ability to quickly learn modern accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct).

    $76,000—$90,000 USD

    Zone B includes the following locations:

    • California - outside of San Francisco Bay Area

    • Metro Denver / Boulder - Colorado

    • Metro District of Columbia - District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia

    • Metro Boston / Cambridge - Massachusetts and New Hampshire

    • Metro Austin - Texas

    • Metro Seattle - Washington

    Zone B Pay Range

    $70,000—$82,000 USD

    Zone C includes all other locations not listed above, including:

    • Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, Wyoming

    • Non metro Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia

    Zone C Pay Range

    $63,000—$75,000 USD

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Base Salary: The range listed above reflects our standard pay scale and actual pay will vary based on work location, job level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    • Total Rewards: In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or equity.
