This is a fully remote role supporting a team in the EST time zone.

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to own financial operations at Darkroom, working directly with the Director of finance to grow the financial position of the business. This person will be responsible for all things finance and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; they will work with Darkroom’s Financial Controller on operational tasks such as payables and receivables as well as more analytical tasks such as potential acquisition.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate and execute the financial planning process, including forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses

  • Conduct complex financial analyses to inform strategic decisions

  • Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborate with departments to understand financial requirements and provide analytical support

  • Conduct cost reviews and identify financial optimization opportunities

  • Review accounting reclassifications to ensure the accuracy of financial records

  • Lead the interconnections of AP and AR for the business in client, contractor, and vendor relationships

  • Manage an offshore bookkeeper and ensure their timely processing of invoices, books, and monthly close.

  • Manage the ongoing changes to our robust existing financial model and work with our fractional business model consultant to make updates to the model at regular cadences.

  • Add all new customers to our invoicing databases, Quickbooks, and ensure automatic invoices are triggered and delivered.

  • Daily cash-flow management of Darkroom bank accounts ensuring bookkeeper is properly reconciling all inbound and outbound expenses and revenue.

  • Manage Darkroom’s expense tools and credit cards (Ramp.com) and that all software is approved, and coded to the correct department, CoA, and credit card.

  • Manage Darkroom’s AP tool (Bill.com) and ensure bookkeeper is properly adding vendors and contractors and expenses are approved and coded to the correct department and CoA.

  • Communicate with customers about late invoices, working with management and legal for escalations and collections.

  • Manage Darkroom’s AR insurance (Allianz), adding all new vendors to the policy.

  • Report weekly to the Executive team on cash flow, AR balance, monthly revenue trend, and churn,

  • Report monthly to the Executive team on expenses, end-of-month cash balances, and revenue.

You should apply if this sounds like you:

  • 3-5 years of finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or other relevant roles.

  • Experience working independently or on smaller and nimble finance teams.

  • Experience working with marketing services or agencies or a service-based industry is a plus.

  • Capable of creating a complicated financial model from scratch

  • Experience handling cash flows (accounts receivable and accounts payables)

  • Intimately familiar with tools such as Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, Ramp.com, Excel, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively and confidently communicate with external and internal stakeholders.

  • Comfortable building policies, procedures, and practices and adapting them on the fly as the business grows and adapts.

  • A self-starter who enjoys working within a close-knit team environment.

  • Ability to work between multiple different teams (Executive, Client Services, Business Development, external partners) and keeping tasks organized.

  • Possesses superior organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, tact, initiative, drive, and takes ownership of the role.

  • Experience in Excel or Google Sheets is a must
