Financial Controller (Remote Contractor)
The Opportunity
WPT Global is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support the finance operations of a fast-growing international online business.
This is a fully remote contractor opportunity suited to a commercially minded finance professional with strong international experience and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, and forecasting activities
Develop and improve financial controls, reporting processes, and operational procedures
Support strategic financial planning and performance analysis
Prepare monthly management reporting and financial insights for senior stakeholders
Monitor financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate controls
Coordinate external audits and liaise with external accounting and advisory partners
Support KPI reporting, cash flow forecasting, and business performance tracking
Ensure compliance with applicable financial standards and internal governance requirements
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across international teams Requirements
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
Proven experience operating in a senior finance, controllership, or financial leadership role
Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
Experience improving finance processes, controls, and operational reporting
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, spreadsheets, and financial analysis tools
Professional qualification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent is advantageous Preferred Experience
Experience working within fast-paced international businesses
Experience supporting remote or distributed global teams
Exposure to digital, technology, fintech, entertainment, or online platform businesses is beneficial
