Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for all financial accounting and supervision of transaction processing. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for training, mentoring, and managing staff accountants.

Responsibilities:
- Support Accounts Receivable collection efforts of staff accountants on a weekly basis
- Review AP data entry, respond to inquiries about vendor charges that require further review or communication, manage AP clerk’s daily activities
- Prepare AP payment recommendations to Controller, prepare approved AP payments
- Review payroll time entries, reimbursements, and perform quarterly 941 reconciliations
- Review sales tax returns, sales tax notices, and monitor sales tax nexus for all states through Avalara
- Review weekly cycle count results and consult with warehouse as needed to monitor inventory controls
- Assess landed costs at least monthly and provide insight into gross margin impact of fluctuating shipping costs
- Participate in annual physical inventory count procedures
- Approve inventory adjustments when necessary
- Cooperation with operations and third-party warehouse for inventory and purchasing information requests
- Perform month end close procedures for three entities, including:
o Close AP, AR modules and review bank reconciliation
o Inventory reconciliations
o Intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
o Accrual based month end adjustments to prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, depreciation, etc.
o Review all balance sheet reconciliations and ensure source documentation on file as appropriate
o Income and balance sheet review
o Capitalize assets per GAAP
o Report appropriate addbacks of one-time items in Adjusted EBITDA
- Update financial reports and provide commentary to Controller on trends, including budget vs. actual performance
- Prepare borrowing base reports as needed to bankers
- Provide requested information to tax CPAs or auditors timely
- Review and approve annual 1099 filings
- Cash flow forecasting: Leverage historical information, current sales performance, and recurring and one-time expense expectations to update and analyze short term cash flow report
- Maintain process and procedure documentation for job responsibilities
- Look for ways to cut costs and improve profitability
- Implement automation or updated procedures, in cooperation with Controller, to increase efficiency of accounting department
- Consistency in following segregation of duties and internal control procedures, with attention to protect company assets
- Performing other related duties/projects as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related discipline required
- Minimum of 5 years of GAAP Accounting in manufacturing/distributing environment
- Experience with landed cost and accounting for logistics expenses
- Problem solving with an analytical mindset
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Proven experience with process improvement/automation/software implementations
- Integrity and discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other Microsoft Office Suite software
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Experience with related entity accounting a plus
- Interface with other departments, customers, and vendor representatives.

- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet deadlines
