About Content Experience

You will be a part of the engineering team in Munich, working alongside international colleagues across US, UK, and India. Cross-functional collaboration is at the heart of what we do and you will be comfortable working in close partnership with Product, Design, UX, and Data.

The Role

We are searching for a frontend engineer to support the Content Experience engineering team at Condé Nast Germany in Munich in developing new components and services for our many fashion and commerce oriented websites worldwide.

Our tech

  • Languages and Frameworks: Javascript, Node.JS, React (and React eco-system)

• Front-end: CSS, Sass

• APIs: GraphQL, Rest

• Data: Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch

• Deployment: Docker, AWS, Kubernetes

• Source Control: Git, GitHub

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implementation of complex React frontends and Node apps
  • Definition and implementation of base architectures of new applications and components
  • Inception of new concepts and libraries for the optimization of dynamic websites
  • Evolution of complex headless and api driven content frameworks
  • Evaluation of new technologies to define the future of our web applications

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Software Engineer with 3-5 years experience in this area.
  • Expert knowledge in web application technologies like React, Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge in application architecture and modern design patterns for Javascript/TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of common Node.js frameworks like Express or NestJs.
  • Experienced in modern development tools like Docker and Git.
  • Ideally experience in the development of backends in JS or other common languages like PHP.
  • Appreciation for functions of Product and Design, experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • You speak fluent English and basic German or willing to learn German.
  • You’re someone who’ll own every step of the development process; from refining tickets to shipping the code to production.
  • You have an interest or desire to learn about every part of the stack; from the latest JavaScript standards, to GraphQL, to accessibility, and the infrastructure we deploy to.
  • You’ll do your best, and ask for help when it’s needed.
