About the job

As a Graduate Software Engineer at Storyteq, you will be part of a dynamic development team. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers and work on exciting projects that contribute to the growth and success of our platform. You will be involved in various stages of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, code reviews, deployment and bug fixing. You will be working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and driven software engineer to kickstart their career in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to develop high-quality software solutions that make marketeers working lives easier
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, peer code reviews, testing, deployment, bug fixing
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools
  • Stay up to date with the latest software development trends and technologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, Software Engineering
  • Experience with modern web development technologies
  • Good knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Java or other object-oriented languages
  • Understanding of software development principles (e.g. SOLID, DRY) and the ability to write well structured code
  • A proactive and tenacious attitude
  • Great attention to detail with a strong desire to deliver high quality work
  • Good aptitude for software engineering skills
  • Good ability to understand and analyse problems and offer solutions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A great collaborator and team player
  • Have a suitable remote working environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Git based version control systems e.g. Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket
  • Experience with Angular, React, Vue or similar
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms Google Cloud, AWS, Azure
  • Experience with relational or document store database technologies
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

The recruitment process:

  • Closing date for applicants will be 26/04
  • Successful candidates contacted between 29/04 - 03/05
  • Qualifying calls completed between 13/05 - 24/05
  • 1st stage interviews completed between 03/06 - 14/06
  • Graduate Open Day at the Fort office in Birmingham at the end of June (date TBC)
  • Start date in September 2024
