This position is a fully remote position, however, the successful candidate may need to travel to UCFS offices in Norwich, CT as needed and ideally will reside in Connecticut, Rhode Island or Massachusetts.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for the writing and submission of grant proposals, managing and directing of all grant activities through the agency in collaboration with program leads including:
- the monitoring of new and existing grant portfolio
- identification of new grant opportunities
- ensuring timely submission of grant deliverables
- federal and state grant program and financial reporting requirements
- ensuring compliance with all grant terms and conditions.
- Develop and implement a systematic process for the identification of potential new grant opportunities that align with the agency’s mission and goals.
- Responsible for the monitoring of all new and existing grant contracts including :
- tracking of grant budget vs actual results
- coordinating with program staff on all data and reporting requirements
- ad hoc reporting that may be requested from time to time in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement a formalized reporting process for programmatic and financial results which enables the agency to make informed decisions on the status of the grants.
- Utilize the UCFS financial accounting software to extract existing data for grant application budget development as well as periodically creating grant budgets from scratch leveraging existing agency data in order to ensure timely grant application submissions.
- Collaborate with finance staff and program leads to develop standard monthly financial and program grant reporting of actual vs budget results to ensure compliance with grant funders requirements.

Requirements- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. non-profit management, business administration, communications) required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and contract management
- Knowledge of grant-making organizations and the grant application process
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts and agreements
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skill
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with strong research and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and collaborative attitude
