About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering to join our team and play a crucial role in driving the success of our company by leading the development and execution of our technology strategy. The ideal candidate will be an expert in software development and engineering operations with a proven track record of delivering high-quality and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives and goals.

  • Lead a team of software engineers and other technical professionals to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team, ensuring best practices, developing and implementing personal development plans, and high-quality standards are consistently met.

  • Collaborate with other company stakeholders, including executive leadership, sales, marketing, and customer support, to drive product development and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products and services.

  • Continuously evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to optimize engineering operations and stay ahead of industry trends.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the technology industry, including emerging trends, technologies, and competitive landscape, to inform strategic decision-making and product development.

  • Set and deliver KPIs for the engineering team, ensuring strong familiarity with OKR/KPI frameworks to continually measure and optimize team performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.

  • Expertise in system design and the capability to implement it effectively.

  • Proven track record of success in developing and launching innovative technology solutions.

  • Strong technical expertise in software development and DevOps.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with products that have a large user base.

  • Experience with subscription-based products.

Location

Able operates within the CET (Central European Time) time zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ยฑ 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.
