We are looking for a skilled Head of QA to lead our Quality Assurance function, which will play a crucial role in driving quality standards across our engineering teams and ensuring the integrity of our platform. This is a unique horizontal leadership position that will serve as the bridge between domain-specific QA resources, coordinating efforts across the organisation to enhance testing approaches, foster a cohesive strategy, and drive continuous improvement.
As our Head of QA, you will be responsible for setting testing objectives, implementing metrics to gauge quality across all teams, and championing a strategic approach to test automation. The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing distributed teams, a strong background in fintech, and a proven track record in test automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Act as the central point for QA, aligning testing approaches across domain teams and setting clear goals for quality improvements within the organisation.
  • Quality Ownership: Take accountability for the overall quality of our platform, establishing and monitoring key metrics to maintain and enhance product integrity.
  • Automation Strategy: Lead the development of a company-wide test automation strategy, focusing on increasing automation levels, improving efficiency, and delivering high-quality outputs. Define and implement a roadmap for automation growth across teams.
  • Process and Standards Coordination: Work closely with domain teams to standardise QA processes, ensuring best practices are applied consistently and adapted to the specific needs of each domain.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a point of coordination between QA resources, engineering managers, and team leads, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous quality improvements.
  • Team Management & Mentoring: Oversee a distributed team of QA professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and career development opportunities. Facilitate alignment and cohesion across geographically dispersed teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience in FinTech: Prior experience in the FinTech domain is essential, with a strong understanding of the unique quality and compliance needs within this sector.
  • Distributed Team Management: Proven ability to manage and motivate distributed teams, balancing remote coordination with effective leadership.
  • Automation Expertise: Strong expertise in test automation, including hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured, Postman, Pact) and a history of building or enhancing automation frameworks.
  • API Testing & CI/CD: Proficiency in API testing (REST, WS) and experience with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration of automated testing into our development lifecycle.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills: Skilled in code analysis, debugging, and quality metrics development, with a focus on identifying improvement areas and driving data-informed decisions.
  • Agile Methodologies: Comfortable working in Agile environments, with experience adapting QA strategies to iterative release cycles.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing solutions, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Results Orientation: A strong sense of accountability and ownership over QA outcomes, coupled with a data-driven approach to assessing quality metrics and performance.
