About the Company
Our client is a PE-backed technology services and managed services business headquartered in London, providing IT infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity services to mid-market clients across the UK. Backed by a top-tier growth equity fund, they have grown rapidly through a combination of organic growth and five acquisitions in the past four years and are now building the strategic infrastructure needed to sustain that trajectory toward exit. The business has revenues of £200m and a leadership team that combines deep technology expertise with strong commercial capability.
The Role
As Head of Strategy, you will be the CEO's right hand on all strategic matters, owning the strategic planning process, leading major strategic projects, and ensuring the business is making well-informed, evidence-based decisions on the issues that will determine its long-term success. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for a commercially sharp strategist who is ready to step into a central leadership position.
What You'll Do
Own the annual strategic planning process, coordinating inputs from across the business and producing a clear, funded strategic plan for Board approval.
Lead major strategic projects on behalf of the CEO, from M&A evaluation and market expansion to operating model design and competitive positioning.
Develop and maintain the company's view of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
Prepare materials for Board and investor meetings, including strategic updates, capital allocation proposals, and M&A investment papers.
Build and lead a small strategy team, developing their analytical and commercial capabilities over time.
What We're Looking For
8–12 years of experience in strategy consulting (top-tier preferred) or a corporate strategy role, with some exposure to PE-backed environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen, able to move from ambiguous questions to clear, actionable recommendations.
Excellent stakeholder management, comfortable engaging credibly with a PE Board, CEO, and divisional leadership simultaneously.
Experience in technology services, managed services, or IT outsourcing is an advantage.
A self-starter who thrives with autonomy and is energised by a fast-moving, commercially focused environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of £110,000 – £140,000, depending on experience.
Annual bonus tied to individual and company performance.
Equity co-investment opportunity aligned with the PE fund vehicle.
Private health cover, pension, and 27 days holiday.
