The Instructional Designer II is a key contributor to the strategic development of employee learning journeys that ensure optimized, effective, and modern learning experiences for the global network of employees. The Instructional Designer II role will have primary accountability for successful and effective instructional design based on adult learning theories for talent development needs across the business. Some of What You'll Do

Scope of the Role:

  • Direct Reports: No

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop cutting-edge training that can be delivered asynchronously to allow for flexibility, including videos, gamification, simulations, narration/audio.

  • Create engaging learning activities and course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.

  • Utilize excellent proofreading skills for all content.

  • Utilize eLearning software (Articulate, Camtasia, etc.) and other instructional design software.

  • Ability to storyboard, to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.

  • Collaborate with team, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to instructionally design learning content.

  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.

  • Stay up to date on the industry, product, market, and training best practices.

  • Prototype instructional design projects with mock-up graphics and the user interface

  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.

  • Work with subject matter experts to validate target audience’s training needs.

  • Redesign legacy content to ensure it matches the learner’s needs.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in the field of HR, Information Technology, Education, and Educational/Instructional Technology, Technology or relevant professional experience

  • 8-10 years of experience with instructional design with focus on eLearning and Mobile Learning content development and related tools

Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Articulate, Camtasia, knowledge of HTML & CSS, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator

  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and deliver multiple work projects simultaneously

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint

  • Must have a proactive approach to problem solving and demonstrated the ability to be a strategic thinker
