We are seeking a passionate and experienced Instructor to facilitate our Interaction Design & Prototyping for XR course for adult learners from March to May 2025. This is a blended course model with a combination of live-online workshops lead by the instructor and asynchronous video tutorials for students. Ideal candidates will be available to work part-time on Monday and Thursday afternoon/evening (plus prep time/grading). This position is open candidates based in Canada with the opportunity to work 100% remote. Our two Spring cohorts run from March 11 to May 22, 2025 on Mondays from 3:30-4:00 pm PT and 6:30-7:00 pmPT plus Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 pm PT and 6:30-7:30 pm PT. Preference will be given to candidates who can facilitate both cohorts.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating weekly kick-off session on Mondays and weekly workshops on Thursdays
- Support students to design and prototype new experiences for AR, VR, and MR technologies
- Encourage discussions and observations about the course content and their experiences
- Guide learners to create intuitive and immersive user interfaces using Unity, toolkits and VR headsets
Requirements
- Extensive AR or VR design experience
- Experience with UX design and Interaction design for XR
- Experience with Unity, ShapesXR VR Prototyping application, AR Core, ARKit, and Figma (or similar)
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, tutor or instructor
- Degree or diploma in art, design, or other creative fields is desirable but not mandatory
