Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking to fill several roles for a full-time Investigation Support Specialist for our Risk Decision Group. This position is 100% remote.

The Investigative Support Specialist will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • This position requests and processes confidential information in support of background investigations and may correspond in a variety of ways including telephone, email, fax, and mail to obtain information required for items assigned to them.
  • Maintains and updates multiple database systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work is routine and repetitive and follows various standardized operating procedures.
  • Conduct telephone, fax, mail, and online inquiries regarding financial, criminal/civil, education, and employment records and translate them into a written report to support various government agencies.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with others, to type for long periods of time, meet expectations for attendance and punctuality, and able to pay attention to details while conducting daily work
  • Specialist are required to type and report all obtained information in a clear and concise report on a government issued computer system
  • The chosen candidate for this position must possess and be able to successfully maintain a government security clearance.
  • Working from a secure home office is required
  • This position may work on assigned special projects and reports as needed.
  • Position will require daily communication with team members and managers.
  • Accurate and efficient typing capabilities (40+ WPM recommended) and ability to work within multiple computer programs concurrently

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Currently hold a Top Secret Security Clearance
  • 1 year of background investigation or reviewer experience in support of a government contract
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • 1 year of clerical experience
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Have availability to work within normal business hours
  • Must be able to speak/type for extended periods of time and hear sufficiently to communicate over the phone; record, read and transcribe words and numbers with a high degree of accuracy

  • Proficient grammar and writing skills in order to submit high quality reports with minimal or no errors
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals and personalities professionally and effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision
  • Ability to multi-task on an advanced level

Target Salary Range

The rate / range per hour below represents the typical pay for this position based on experience and other factors.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

$19.23-$25.96
