The Kubernetes Engineering team architects deploys and manages the firm's Kubernetes clusters globally. You will have the opportunity to be at the center of the work required to provide a best-of-breed Kubernetes platform for the firm'scontainer runtime.
The move to containers is at the heart of the firm's technology strategy, and the Kubernetes Engineering function withinUnix Engineering is at the forefront of providing a container runtime solution on-premise and in the public cloud.
This includes but isn't limited to, the engineering and implementation of components within the Kubernetes infrastructure and the integration with on-premise and public-cloud dependencies and services.
The team also partners with application teams to engineer solutions to meet specific requirements and to assist with architecture and design decisions.
Skills:
- Experience with the implementation, architecture, and operation of an on-premises containerized environment
- Hands-on configuration, management, and upgrades of a Kubernetes platform
- Knowledge of OpenShift, Ceph, or ArgoCD an advantage
- CI/CD Development Environments/Tools: Git, GitLab/GitHub
- Demonstrable experience in setting and meeting project goals when implementing and integrating complex technology concepts
- Expertise in at least one scripting and/or high-level language, ideally Golang or shell
Education
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent or higher) in a Science or Engineering program
- In-depth knowledge of Linux and containers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some experience in using configuration management tools
- Familiarity with standard IT security practices (e.g. TLS certificates, key management, oAuth, LDAP)
- CNCF Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) would be a significant advantage
- Demonstrated interest and ability to learn about the developing container-runtime landscape of components and technologies
