This role is fully remote from any country within the EU.
We seek a Java Lead Developer to play a key role in developing the open-source Harmony eDelivery Access product for EU-wide cross-border data exchange. In this role, you will collaborate with NIIS team members and stakeholders to ensure the product meets the users' needs.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop the Java-based Harmony eDelivery Access software and related components.
- Develop and maintain the Harmony eDelivery Access technical documentation.
- Determine resource requirements and produce a development roadmap for the Harmony eDelivery Access.
- Ensure that the Harmony eDelivery Access development is delivered on time and within budget.
- Lead external developers and provide technical guidance and support.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends regarding eDelivery and make recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that the Harmony eDelivery Access meets their requirements and expectations.
- Provide support to the Harmony eDelivery Access users.
Requirements
- Experience in the following technologies: Java, JavaScript, MySQL, Linux, Docker, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), automation tools (e.g., Ansible), PKI.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong understanding of software design and development principles.
- Knowledge of API development and integration.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The following are considered as an asset:
- Experience in the different policy domains and projects where eDelivery is utilised.
- Understanding of the relevant EU policies and regulations impacting interoperability.
- Previous experience in developing or deploying interoperability solutions.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following specifications: eDelivery AS4 Profile, AS4 Profile of ebMS, OASIS ebXML Messaging Services, eDelivery SMP Profile, OASIS SMP Specification and OASIS BDXL Specification.
