Job Description

Skimmer is on a mission: to modernize the pool and spa service and repair industry. We’re a private equity-backed company with 6000+ customers using Skimmer’s pool service software and running their businesses the modern way. But we’re not stopping there (there are over 70,000 pool service companies in this surprisingly large “niche” space).

Our customers love us almost as much as we love them (check out our reviews and our NPS score of 68!)

Our mobile application is a critical link in our customers' ability to run their businesses, so maintaining a robust, fully functional, and empowering app is critical to their success, as well as ours.

We’re looking for big thinkers with small egos, so let’s dive in!

Our Values: At Skimmer we ....

  • Realize our customers' success is our success.
  • Build humble, diverse teams who have fun winning.
  • Drive results with urgency.
  • Earn trust through transparent communication.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of new features and capabilities in our Android and iOS native mobile applications.
  • Define standards and best practices for our mobile application team
  • Keep us ahead of our competition with new innovations for in-the-field use of our platform
  • Work hand-in-hand with our marketing, product, backend engineering, and QA teams to deliver a great mobile experience to our customers and their employees
  • Manage our mobile application releases and keep us compliant with changes in app store requirements

Your Work Philosophy

  • You can balance regular, frequent delivery of new features with architectural and implementation quality
  • You know that success is defined by outcomes, not hours invested
  • You'd rather collaborate with product, marketing, QA, and backend teams than go it alone
  • You embrace failure but always aim to succeed
  • You make time for learning from, and teaching, others

Requirements

  • 8+ years of native mobile application development experience
  • 5+ years experience specifically with Microsoft Xamarin, Xamarin.Forms, or MAUI frameworks for mobile application development
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-person mobile development initiatives (mobile field services applications is a plus)
  • Experienced working with Azure cloud services
  • Strong C#/.NET development experience
  • Experience with best-practice API design
  • Experience with MVVM frameworks, particularly ReactiveUI
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks, including NUnit/XUnit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to translate intricate business objectives and processes into technical solutions
  • Strong problem solving and research skills
  • A love of the Microsoft .NET stack and working with Distributed Systems
  • Solid knowledge of Agile development methodologies

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, neurodiversity, disability, age, or veteran status, or any other non-merit based or legally protected grounds.

We also acknowledge that there is no “perfect” candidate - if you fulfill a few of the requirements, believe this is a role you would be excited about on a daily basis, and resonate with our culture, we encourage you to apply!

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay + bonus potential
  • Company equity
  • Generous medical, dental, and vision plans (we pay 100% of your premium and 50% of your dependents’)
  • Immediate access to 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO (MINIMUM of 10 days required every year)
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave for birthing parent, 6 weeks paid leave for supporting partner
  • Remote work friendly (Skimmer HQ is in Austin, but you’re welcome to work wherever you're most productive - over 3/4 of our team is fully-remote)
  • Comprehensive learning and development budget
  • A manager dedicated to your development
