Job Description

About Super.com
We started Super.com to help maximize lives–both the lives of our customers and the lives of our employees– so that everyone can experience all that life has to offer. For our employees, our promise is that Super.com is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to unlock one’s potential, where learning is celebrated and impact is realized.
We are more than a fast-paced, high-growth tech company; we care about our people and take career progression seriously. This is your career and our aim is to supercharge it through the people, the work, and the programs that fuel who we are.
About the Role:
At Super, you will learn what it is like to work in-house at a fast-paced, venture-backed startup that is pushing to provide better opportunities and experiences to underserved individuals in new and innovative ways. The legal department is composed of a small group of professionals who are committed to not only supporting the advancement of our company’s goals, but also to the professional development of each team member.
In this role, you will report directly to the Product Counsel, but will interface daily with our Associate Product Counsel, General Counsel, and Legal Operations Manager. You can expect to regularly be assigned projects where you are asked to provide legal analysis on a wide variety of topics, including privacy law, banking regulations, intellectual property, and commercial transactions. Interns can also expect to work editing and drafting contracts that range in scope from a one-page addenda to a 50-page Master Service Agreement. We encourage our interns to share with us what areas of law interest them the most so we are better able to assign projects that directly relate to their passions.
Super’s legal team also maintains an emphasis on the development of professional skills that aren’t always taught in law school—we provide additional training on interpersonal interactions, insight into contract negotiation tactics, and help you navigate establishing yourself as an attorney in whatever area of law you pursue.

Challenges You'll Solve

  • Work cross functionally to advise marketing, product, engineering, and customer care teams on product development and new features
  • Perform legal research on applicable laws and regulations related to all three verticals, new product features, and innovative approaches to marketing
  • Contract drafting, reviewing, and proofreading (including influencer agreements, freelance writer agreements, master service agreements, DPAs, third-party vendors, etc.)
  • Think outside the box to develop and enhance processes for legal support of e-commerce, travel, and fintech verticals
  • Collaborate often with internal stakeholders to execute on cross-company projects
  • Understand and balance legal risks within the context of a business
  • Prepare internal training materials for non-legal staff (privilege, confidentiality, influencer negotiations, data protection)
  • Communicate with outside counsel on a variety of matters including employment law, data protection, and litigation issues

About You

  • Enrolled in an accredited degree program to receive a Juris Doctorate, current law school student (1L, 2L, or 3L)
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, no matter how big or small the task
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn about new and complex issues
  • Experience in owning projects from start to finish or are excited to gain this skill set
  • Loves to work independently with some oversight and values flexibility
  • Scrappy and resourceful to complete tasks and projects
  • Collaborative nature and excitement to work in an agile environment
  • Strong interest in business and/or startups
  • Empathy and excitement to help further our mission

  • We do not place any particular emphasis on being on a journal, joining moot court or mock trial, leading several clubs, or booking a class. If you’ve accomplished those things in law school - kudos! If you have not, we still value what you bring to the table and we strongly encourage you to apply.

We've got you covered

  • Compensation: We pay top-of-market for interns
  • $300 one-time home office set-up allowance
  • $25/week UberEats allowance on Fridays
  • $300/term Learning and Development allowance
  • $120/ Term Fitness/Wellness allowance
  • Build Something Great: most importantly, build a product used by millions around the world - have ownership, have impact, and do great work.
We Believe in Equal Opportunity
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
