    Full-time
    RemoteGeneralToday

    About this role

Little Otter, part of Hazel Health, is transforming how children and families access mental health care. Founded by clinicians, Little Otter delivers evidence-based, whole-family behavioral health through a virtual care model that combines expert therapy, psychiatry, parent coaching, and measurement-based care to improve outcomes for children and caregivers.

Following the partnership between Little Otter and Hazel Health, we're expanding access to comprehensive pediatric mental health care nationwide. Together, we're helping more children and families receive high-quality, coordinated care wherever they are.

As a Little Otter clinician, you'll practice within our structured, evidence-based care model while being supported by the scale, technology, and mission of Hazel Health.

    The Role

As a Little Otter Licensed Child & Family Therapist, you'll provide virtual, evidence-based therapy to children and families using our clinician-developed, measurement-based care model. You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, deliver individualized treatment, and use standardized clinical measures to guide diagnosis, monitor progress, and inform treatment decisions.

This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy combining high-quality therapeutic care with data-informed practice and who are passionate about improving outcomes for children through whole-family mental health care.

    What You’ll Do

    • Provide evidence-based virtual therapy to children, adolescents, and families using a whole-family approach.

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver high-quality clinical care.

    • Utilize measurement-based care and standardized assessments to guide treatment planning and monitor progress.

    • Partner with caregivers to build skills, support treatment goals, and improve outcomes.

    • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

    • Assess and respond to safety concerns in accordance with clinical best practices and organizational protocols.

    • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and comply with applicable licensing, ethical, and regulatory standards.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Passion for practicing within a structured, outcomes-focused, measurement-based care model centered on children and families.

    • Master’s-level therapist independently licensed in California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or equivalent)

    • Clinical experience providing psychotherapy to children and families

    • Demonstrated experience treating common pediatric mental health conditions using evidence-based approaches

    • Strong diagnostic and assessment skills

    • Comfortable delivering care virtually and using technology in clinical practice

    • Interest in or experience with measurement-informed care and outcomes tracking

If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to still apply!

    Schedule

Maintain availability for 7 sessions per week during peak demand hours. Peak demand hours include sessions at common times where children and families want to be seen: school hours of school-based sessions, after-school hours, evenings, and weekends.

    Compensation

At Hazel Health's Little Otter, we believe clinicians should be compensated for more than just time spent in session. Our W-2 compensation model recognizes the full scope of your work, including paid administrative time and compensation for eligible client no-shows. We also handle billing, credentialing, and referrals so you can focus on delivering exceptional care—not running a private practice.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is based on the therapist’s state of residence and the type and/or duration of completed clinical session.

    • $80 per completed session (60-min)

    • $60 (45-min) / $30 (30-min) / $20 (no-shows & late cancellations) /

    • $20 per hour for administrative time

    Benefits & Support

Part-time employees receive benefits and resources designed to support their well-being and clinical practice, including:

    • Flexible scheduling—you set and manage your own hours

    • 12 paid holidays when the holiday falls on a weekday you would normally work

    • Sick time accrued at one hour for every 30 hours worked

    • Access to a 401(k) retirement savings program, subject to plan eligibility

    • Hazel-managed credentialing and billing, with biweekly pay

    • Free continuing education and ongoing clinical support

    • Malpractice insurance coverage, subject to policy terms

    • Headspace EAP access for you and up to five loved ones, including mindfulness resources, therapy, coaching, and confidential support for needs such as childcare and financial stress

    Equal Opportunity

Hazel Health is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We value the experiences and perspectives of people from all backgrounds. Hazel considers qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with applicable laws. A background check is required following a contingent offer of employment.
