We are seeking a professional full-time LPN to work in our call center (remote position). The triage nurse will be responsible for patient triaging, the nurse phone line, and collaboration with providers. Acts as liaison between providers and the patient; assumes the role of patient advocate. Provides expert nursing consultation care. This position will work Monday through Friday, for an 8 hour shift between the hours of 8am-6pm ET.

Answering inbound calls from patients wishing to schedule an appointment with a provider, our Triage Specialist will serve as the first point of contact with our patients. Providing high levels of customer service and respect are essential.
Job Duties:
- Handle incoming patient calls concerning medical concerns and symptoms for providers.
- Monitors and responds to triagecall in person and/or on the nurse phone line.
- Talks directly to patients on the telephone and then directs them to emergency rooms (ERs) if needed.
- Under supervision from providers, give results on pathologies, x-rays, and lab studies to patients verbally, by mail, or patient’s portal.
- Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
- Maintains detailed, thorough, and accurate documentation of all phone conversations in patient’s record
- Demonstrates good judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems.
- Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
- Serve as a backup nurse to assist physicians with medical procedures, injections, vitals, etc.
- Responsible for analyzing patients prior to seeing the physician.
- Prioritizes work tasks and services and completes tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate, clear and concise progress notes, problem lists, and medication lists.
- Provides patient education regarding disease processes, therapies, and healthful behaviors.
- Communicates appropriately and tactfully with staff, consultants, patients, and family members.
- Administers medications and performs medical and nursing procedures as ordered within the scope of practice.
- Determines urgency of seeing the patient based on brief assessment and on familiarity with a patient’s condition and history.
- Provides appropriate home health advice to patients who do not need to go directly to the ER.
- Arranges appointments for patients who do not need to go to ER, but need to see a physician.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies per physicians request
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures and follows state and federal regulations, such as OSHA and HIPAA guidelines

- Minimum two years customer service experience

- Pssesses the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patient and their families, other employees, and physicians
- Strong computer and interpersonal skills
- High level of telephone skills with good communication ability
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency and prior experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task
