The Team You'll Join:

You'll be joining a diverse and innovative team at Integrated Projects, comprising individuals passionate about transforming the built environment through digitization. Our team consists of cross-functional professionals all working collaboratively to ensure successful product launches. We pride ourselves on our supportive and inclusive culture that values continuous learning and development, with each member contributing unique skills and perspectives to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality software products.

Requirements

Key job Responsibilities:

  • Research & Development: Lead the exploration and implementation of machine learning techniques for automating Scan to BIM processes, with a focus on object detection, semantic segmentation, and 3D scene understanding.
  • Algorithm Design: Design and develop novel machine learning models and algorithms to extract meaningful information from LiDAR point cloud data, leveraging state-of-the-art research like the SceneScript approach.
  • Pipeline Implementation: Build and deploy end-to-end machine learning pipelines, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Data Curation: Design and implement strategies for collecting, annotating, and maintaining high-quality training datasets for various Scan to BIM tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, BIM specialists, and project managers to integrate machine learning solutions into our existing workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record in applying machine learning to 3D data processing, particularly in the context of Scan to BIM or similar domains.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), as well as experience with point cloud processing libraries and tools. Experience with cloud services (e.g AWS) is also beneficial.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with building information modeling concepts, classification schemas, and commercial modeling tool APIs (e.g., Revit API, IFC schema) is a plus.
  • Passion: Eagerness to stay at the forefront of machine learning research and a drive to solve challenging problems in the real world..

Bonus Points:

  • Hands-on experience with the SceneScript approach or similar language-based scene representations.
  • Contributions to open-source projects related to machine learning or 3D data processing.
  • Publications in top-tier conferences or journals in the field of machine learning.

Why Join Us:

  • Impact: Make a tangible difference in the AEC industry by developing solutions that streamline workflows and improve project outcomes.
  • Innovation: Work on cutting-edge projects with access to the latest technologies and research.
  • Growth: Learn and grow alongside a team of passionate experts in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Operating Principles

Read our perspective here: Buildings V. The World

We’ve built a culture of long-term builders.

Till recently, Integrated Projects has differentiated itself from the market by focusing on sustainable, profitable growth—during a time of uncertainty, easy venture money, and wasteful spending. We’ve been obsessive about building for the long-term, while staying practical and creating value for building owners and design professionals today. If successful, digitizing and decarbonizing the built environment will likely not be accomplished within our lifetime—and yet, we’re focused on advancing it.

Here’s our basic operating principles that we expect you to exemplify:

  1. Partnerships, not projects: To solve the largest challenges we face with the built environment, it’s going to take an integrated, ‘all hands on deck’ approach. This means fostering a culture of connection, inclusiveness, and ‘dot-connectors’. Don’t be isolationists within an already fragmented industry.

  2. Show, don’t tell: There’s no shortage of ideas. But communicating how these ideas materialize and develop within a broader ecosystem is hard. Always take bias for showing, demoing, building, and writing—and be impatient keeping ideas to just talk.

  3. Simple, not simplistic: It’s easy to complicate, it’s hard to simplify.

  4. Be an owner, not a manager: Managers work for control, owners work for economics and growth. Run projects like you’re an owner.

  5. Be kind: We’re all just trying to figure this out.
