Position Summary

The Maintenance Lead is a key leadership role within the assigned program, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of aircraft maintenance personnel, aircraft maintenance actions and ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of the deployed aircraft fleet. This position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership and communication skills, a commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards, technical manuals and company policies and procedures.

Metrea Special Aerospace (MSA) provides a full range of aerospace solutions from integrated C4ISR operational services and tailored aviation services to advanced tactical helicopter training. Essential Functions Statement

Supervision and Team Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, fostering a positive, professional, and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate and participate in aircraft maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, modifications, and routine maintenance tasks on the Beechcraft King Air B350.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Foreign Object Damage (FOD) program, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and policy, Tool Control Program (internal management and external enforcement), Maintenance Training Program and Corrosion Control Program at the assigned location.

Safety Management

  • Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team, enforcing existing safety practices and procedures, and finding areas of improvement.
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are carried out in compliance with relevant aviation regulations, manufacturer's guidelines, and company policies.
  • Implement corrective actions when necessary to rectify discrepancies and ensure the highest level of airworthiness.

Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all aircraft maintenance activities, including work orders, logbooks, and maintenance documentation, to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Document, review, and update maintenance employee training records to ensure currency.

Communication and Coordination

  • Maintain open and effective communication with other departments, including deployed Site Leadership, Flight Operations, Fleet Planning, Materials and Logistics, and the Program Management Office, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure aircraft availability to meet contractual commitments.
  • Coordinate with Materials and Logistics to ensure accurate tool, part, and equipment inventories, prompt procurement, effective organization, and proactive maintenance of support equipment as necessary for efficient maintenance operations.

Training and Development

  • Identify training needs within the maintenance team and facilitate training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Encourage professional growth and development for team members.

Supervisory Responsibility
This role has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments. Work environment varies widely based on geographic location of contract operations.

This position requires physical abilities.

Expected Hours of Work
The daily working hours for this position vary Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. You will be scheduled to forward deploy/work approximately 60 days OCONUS followed by rotation off-site for approximately 60 days. Rotation schedule might be adjusted in order to meet program requirements.

Facility Location

Various Locations - OCONUS

Travel
Travel requirements are 50% - OCONUS deployment.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in turboprop aircraft maintenance, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working on Beechcraft King Air B350 aircraft.
  • Computer Skills: Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an aviation maintenance setting.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have a current U.S. Passport

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates

  • Education: Master’s degree in aviation management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    1. Prior military supporting aircraft maintenance from forward deployed locations.
    2. G1000 NXi Avionics.
    3. Engine Run and Taxi – B350.
    4. PT6A Engine Rigging.
    5. Advanced training and courses related to turboprop aircraft maintenance and systems.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
  • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to hold and maintain a Secret (or higher) Clearance Level.
