We’re hiring an experienced Marketing Lead who can help us accelerate, grow and expand our efforts on our owned channels (Email, Organic Social and more). In the past year, Cleo has doubled in size and a large part of that is down to the work done on our owned channels, particularly on the infrastructure. We are now looking to increase growth further by bringing in an experienced Growth Marketing Lead who has proven success in the area.

The opportunity is an exciting one, you will be expected to come in, focus on an area (initially Email, Notifications and CRM flows between install to subscription) and build up impact there, before hiring the team needed to continue the work there as you begin to focus on the next opportunity. The role will be at Lead level and build out a team, though you should expect to get involved early on with each area.

You’ll excite us with your vision for how we can continue to grow owned media channels. We’re not expecting you to be an expert in every channel, but you should have proven experience in email and a clear approach to uncovering new growth opportunities in additional owned channels.

You will report into the Head of Growth Marketing and have an established creative, data, CRM, engineering, brand and product marketing team at your disposal to support you in driving impact.

As our Marketing Lead for owned channels, you will:

  • Strategize and own how we grow our owned channels: You will have Email, Notifications, Organic Social, ASO and more as levers for growth under your ownership. You should be able to identify the impact vs effort trade off for each area and develop a clear strategy for how we have grow in that area, then go and deliver it. As we see success in the different areas, you will hire a team to keep that going whilst you look to expand to new areas.
  • Love testing! You will run as many tests as anyone else in the business, constantly trying new creative campaigns and strategies to squeeze out the maximum growth from each channel.
  • Solve problems: The excitement of this role is the autonomy you will have to identify opportunities and pursue them effectively. You will be comfortable evaluating and pursuing new, complex channels and figuring out how we make them work as part of our growth marketing mix.
  • Reporting and analysis: You will be responsible for delivering results from your work and should be comfortable doing that in a data-first environment. You will be supported by an established Data Team but should have some basic SQL skills to ensure you can get all the data you need, when you need it.

About you:

  • 6+ years minimum relevant experience in owned marketing channels and 3+ years minimum relevant experience in Email (as it’ll be the first opportunity area to go after).
  • You’re a self-starter and have a bias to action. We work fast at Cleo and that means you should be proactive at getting stuff done and not wait for direction.
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely across creative and analytical teams to create marketing that grabs attention and delivers high performance.
  • You should be comfortable owning internal communications for your areas and be ready to speak to anyone from the CEO to an intern about what’s happening on each channel.
  • Proficiency in using data and insights to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Superb project management and organizational skills
  • Experience in B2C marketing is required
  • Experience in Fintech and App Marketing is of interest, but not required
  • We require someone based on the East Coast, starting their days at 8am in order to work effectively with our UK teams
