Job Description

Octopus Energy has grown exponentially in its short history. It is now a complex multi-billion turnover international group, which participates in multiple industry verticals including retail utilities, utilities management, generation, EV leasing and software sales.
We are committed to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. As part of our growth strategy, we are implementing NetSuite to streamline our finance operations and improve efficiency. We are seeking a NetSuite Developer to play a key role in this initiative.
Its legacy business management applications are at the limit of their capacity and capability. A new enterprise resource planning tool (ERP) is required to both provide a finance back bone for the Group, and to integrate information flows and insights across the group. Oracle’s NetSuite SAAS platform has been selected for this task.
Working in Octopus’ Finance Systems team, you will be responsible for building technical customizations and supporting integrations in NetSuite. NetSuite is our core Finance system and it is supplemented by additional applications focused on specific tasks performed or managed by the Finance team. NetSuite is not the only system in the Finance landscape and thus close coordination and integration with other teams and tools is very frequent.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring the ongoing success of NetSuite for the Group and is key to maintaining appropriate systems controls that reflect the Group’s segregation of duties.

What you'll do

  • Be responsible for detailed technical designs based on high level designs provided by Technical Lead and Functional Consultants
  • Develop NetSuite customizations not limited to SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, Javascript, REST, Advanced PDF/HTML, Electronic Payment FIle Format (EFT)
  • Coordinate the work with other colleagues and with the integration team
  • Document unit testing and track progress of own tasks
  • Deploy customizations using our CI/CD process
  • Make sure the work is finished in a timely manner and to the required quality
  • Report on Technical Debt
  • Ensure development is following best practices and customisations are designed to be re-used where possible

What you'll need

  • Essential Experience
  • NetSuite SuiteScript 1.0/2.1, Workflows
  • NetSuite SDF
  • Experience in Integrating NetSuite using REST and SOAP
  • 2+ years of NetSuite technical related experience
  • A drive to get more out of Octopus’s NetSuite investment, and to continuously improve
  • Useful Experience
  • Non-NetSuite related technical experience - other information systems
  • Integration Middleware experience
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • NetSuite Developer certification, or similar
  • Business or IT Degree or equivalent
If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you require specific accommodations or have a unique preference, let us know, and we'll do what we can to customise your interview process for comfort and maximum magic!

Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic.
