Responsibilities
Participate in all levels of the SELC, performing tasks related to system and technology engineering and design, integration and deployment, and ongoing deployment.
Provide recommendations to enhance and improve network performance to the government program management team.
Interface with government staff members and teams to collect, interpret, and clarify requirements
Research, evaluate, and recommend new computer network infrastructure and technologies.
Provide system lifecycle and licensing management support to include maintaining awareness of device EoL and EoS dates, researching, testing, and deploying like-in-kind replacements or new technology service offerings.
Perform site surveys and analyses and support the development of network designs and supporting device configurations
Configure, STIG harden, and tune network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, and wireless controllers (Cisco, Juniper, and others)
Creating automated jobs and reports in Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) or similar management applications to push configuration changes and firmware updates and assess device STIG compliance
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with network availability, connectivity, and latency.
Perform root cause analysis on any system outages or detected network latency or performance degradation.
- Create engineering change packages and supporting documentation to include system drawings, configuration guides, test plans, change notifications, and others as the government prescribes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related degree.
The candidate must have 8 years of network engineering experience of Medium to Large WAN network experience: functions and concepts of a wide area network, designing WAN/LANs and network engineering.
Must possess the following certification: Security+ CE and one or more of the following certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCNP Routing and Switching, CCIE
Active Secret or higher DOD security clearance
Knowledge of various network protocols and standards such as IPV4/IPV6, TCP/ICP, GigE, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, 802.1x DMVPN, SDN, MPLS
Working knowledge of DOD network STIG and SRG implementation
- Familiarity with DOD CCRI/CORA network infrastructure assessments is a plus.
Experience in the use of network infrastructure centralized management applications, including Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Solar Winds, Cisco DNA Center
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
