Your Impact

Axon’s NIBRS team is looking for a NIBRS Specialist to join forces with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to help build and certify our NIBRS-compliant product within Axon’s newest, cloud-based public safety Records Management System (RMS). Axon RMS automates and assists officer workflows, provides real-time validation messages, and offers law enforcement administrators the ability to easily submit their state crime reports.

Axon continues to lead the global effort to protect life through electric weapons, body cameras, a number of real-time sensors, public safety software products and AI tools. Axon is uniquely positioned to tie together every aspect of an incident in order to help law enforcement agencies better prepare for what might happen, respond efficiently and effectively, deliver justice, ensure the well being of their officers, and increase the safety of communities. Working together with our customers and product teams, you will build the foundation for Axon’s outcome-oriented data efforts.


What You’ll Do

Location: Remotely from the US OR Onsite at our Seattle, WA office or Scottsdale, AZ office
Reports to: Senior Program Manager, NIBRS

  • Oversee National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) requirements for Axon’s roadmap
  • Work directly with NIBRS state program specialists and agency stakeholders to develop plans and meet certification requirements
  • Deep level understanding of the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) submissions and other state reporting requirements.
  • Join Forces with the Product and Engineering team to ensure national and state standards are accurately defined
  • Audit state specifications, forms and product specification standards, as well as create Jira tickets to support NIBRS certifications.
  • Identify key NIBRS challenges, propose solutions, and seek feedback from leadership and stakeholders.
  • Act as an additional internal NIBRS expert and consultant to PSO, Sales, Customer Support, and Data Platform.
  • Provides ongoing NIBRS training
  • Influence peers, advise leaders, coach and mentor junior team members.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years experience in Law Enforcement reporting technology
  • Deep level understanding of the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) submission requirements
  • Experience with Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) is a plus
  • Ability to influence and work cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Experience with Flat File, XML, JSON and the ability to decipher patterns is a plus
  • Strong communication skills (both oral & written)
  • Ability to make hard tradeoff assessments
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and maintain CJIS clearance. Handle confidential and highly sensitive information.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 92,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 138,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
