Classification Summary:
Serves as an ambassador and representative of the University or Community College with a variety of audiences, including prospective students and their families, applicants, newly admitted students, P-12 school district students and staff, community college students and staff, business and other community members, University faculty and staff, and alumni. Responsible for managing respective recruitment territory, which includes extensive fall travel during the six to eight week long recruitment season. Guides prospective students and their families through the application process. Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with key constituencies in recruitment territory. Responsible for assisting with all areas of admission including undergraduate, transfer, graduate and international recruitment, marketing and communications, event planning, Aggie Welcome Orientation programming, family engagement activities, campus visits, etc.
Classification Standard Duties:
Creates and leads teams of individual University Admission Advisors and Student Ambassadors to successfully complete tasks related to a specific area of on-going responsibility Participate in the planning and implementation of annual admission recruitment, application and enrollment strategies. Develop marketing strategies, recruitment publications and communications, travel schedules, collection and analysis of aggregate and disaggregate recruitment and demographic data. Conduct campus tours, formal and informal presentations, tele-recruiting and e-recruiting activities. Evaluate applicant qualifications and advise accordingly. Coordinate and/or participate in a variety of campus programs and special events to engage with the community and to market and recruit potential new students. Work collaboratively with University Financial Aid and Scholarship Services staff..Disseminates pertinent information, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).Monitors progress of applicants to admitted and enrolled status. Provides policy interpretation and advisement as appropriate, in accordance with university policy, accreditation standards, and privacy laws. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of current industry best practices, customer service standards and procedures, system-wide admissions policies, standards, and procedures. Knowledge of full spectrum of university academic units, curricula, and programs. College-level maintenance requirements for student records principles, policies and procedures. Knowledge of national, regional and local student recruitment and retention issues.;
SKILLS: Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, especially in public speaking. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of computer software applications. Demonstrated time and materials management skills. Effective utilization of student information systems and customer relations management systems. Database and records management and/or maintenance skills. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, the Student Enrollment Coordinator will work closely with NMSU Global Campus students and online learners, providing support in developing degree plans that illustrate a student’s journey to degree completion and aiding in the first semester transition from admissions to advising. This position involves collaborating with admissions advisors, academic advisors, and other student success roles to ensure a seamless handoff and a positive student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed and accurate degree plans for newly admitted students to facilitate first semester course registration – decreasing the time from admitted to enrolled.
- Serve as a liaison between admission advisors and academic advisors, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Collaborate with admissions advisors to support the development of unofficial degree plans for prospective students, showcasing their educational path at NMSU Global Campus.
- Identify, report, and remove obstacles and barriers that may obstruct the student journey to first-semester registration.
- Collaborate with admissions advisors to support their ability to guide newly admitted students through the enrollment process, including account setup, orientation, degree planning, and course registration.
- Collaborate with admissions and academic advisors to facilitate the seamless transition from admissions to advising after course registration.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, statuses, progress, and degree plans.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with academic advising processes.
- Customer-centric approach to student support.
- Online learning and/or academic advising background highly recommended.

As an integral part of the NMSU Global Campus Admissions Team, this position reports to the Director of Online Admissions and will be required to work some weekends, evening hours and holiday breaks (e.g. winter holiday) to meet the needs of NMSU Global Campus students.
