Job Description

WordPress VIP (WPVIP), the enterprise division of Automattic, is the world’s leading content management platform. Leveraging our FedRAMP certification, WPVIP is expanding its reach into the public sector, and growing momentum in highly regulated use cases. WordPress, the Open Source Content Management System (CMS), powers 40% of the web. Our large and growing ecosystem of technologies, services, and integrations is designed to bring that freedom and power to our customers, which include several federal government agencies, as well as Meta, The New York Times, Salesforce, and hundreds more.

Our government sector business is rapidly expanding as we capitalize on the US Federal Government’s “Cloud Smart” mandate, and we are correspondingly increasing our investment in our GRC capabilities. As we build out this team, we are looking to hire an Operations Analyst/Project Manager who is adept at identifying opportunities to scale operations and proficient at bringing together people, technologies, and processes to implement related changes. The right candidate will have opportunities to expand the scope of their role after implementing steady-state operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Compliance in executing against Compliance Roadmap with focus on two key areas: (1) Project Management in support of Roadmap and (2) Process design, implementation, measurement, and improvement efforts.
  • Establish steady-state operations for ongoing GRC efforts. We have dozens of processes which have been implemented organically, and are ready for further maturation.
  • Integrate steady-state processes with broader organizational processes. This will involve collaborating with colleagues in other functions including HR, Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Business Development.
  • Produce and publish a recurring departmental dashboard of KPI and project statuses. This will involve establishing a reporting framework and cadence for the state of individual processes, including putting in place mechanisms to collect data necessary for reporting.
  • Define and lead kaizen efforts to streamline and optimize processes to improve on QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery), as measured by the reporting framework.
  • Establish and run processes to identify, purchase, and implement tools which will help scale operations including our approach to Document Management, Risk Reporting, and ConMon.
  • Document processes, evangelize changes, educate participants, and generally serve as a ‘source of truth’ and a ‘change agent’.

Requirements:

  • Deep operational experience:
    • Defining and implementing critical and complex processes, including in support of internal customers.
    • Establishing process metrics frameworks for related suites of processes.
    • Process improvement methodologies including prioritization, improvement focal area selection, stakeholder management, execution, and impact determination.
  • Demonstrated project management experience for moderate to high complexity multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Experience having run tool selection from requirements through to impact assessment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, conduct, and drive meetings and outcomes independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a tech-centered, developer-focused environment, and adept at collaborating with software engineers and understanding technical and product details.
  • Technologically savvy; able to pick up on new technologies, software, and systems easily.
  • Strong presentation and executive engagement skills.

Extra Credit:

  • Experience working in a distributed environment, or with remote team members.
  • Direct functional experience in any aspect of GRC.
  • Large enterprise experience.

Salary range: $130,000-$155,000 USD - Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
