As a Payroll Tax Compliance Manager, you will be an integral part of our team as this role will establish and oversee a new team focused on U.S. Payroll and Payroll Tax compliance. The Compliance Manager will work closely with Product, Engineering, Vendors, and Payroll Services operations to ensure compliance changes are implemented on time and accurately. In this role you will also:

  • Proactively identify and manage our regulatory changes impacting Payroll Services
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to establish a process to submit, prioritize, track, and report on compliance changes needed within BambooHR applications
  • Work in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with governmental agencies and vendors providing compliant solutions
  • Represent BambooHR at industry forums
  • Communicate compliance changes to internal stakeholders and partners to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal Payroll regulations.
  • Work with Customer Communication and Training teams to share and educate internal and external customers on compliance changes
  • Provide excellent support to internal and external customers who have questions about or need more information regarding compliance regulations
  • Assist in hiring, training, coaching, and development of team members
  • Being a role model for BambooHR values

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Experience building strong relationships with governmental agencies and industry groups that define regulations and best practices for payroll companies
  • 3-5 years prior experience managing payroll and tax compliance responsibilities and 3-5 years of leadership experience
  • Deep understanding of US Payroll and Payroll Tax practices and business operations
  • Skilled at influencing & negotiating
  • Experience designing and administering scalable compliance-related processes and programs
  • Passionate about BHR values
  • Has shown the ability to work well with people through work on projects, mentoring and/or training others
  • Ability to learn and work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
