About the role:

Whalar is looking to hire a People Ops Manager for a temporary position of five months to cover a leave of absence from May through the beginning of October. This person will need at least five years of experience and will manage the routine functions of the People Ops (HR) department, including onboarding/offboarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This is a remote position, but the individual is required to live on the East Coast.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Administers and oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Collaborates with the President of People and Operations to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to People Ops
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's needs
  • Maintains HRIS, Rippling
  • Open enrollment benefits implementation in June 2024

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • MUST be a great human being and team player
  • Proficiency with Rippling as an HRIS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Concur SAP is a plus
  • Experience with Lattice is a plus
  • Experience with Navan is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience

This is a 5 month contract that will pay $55.00 per hour and include benefits.
