Location: Remote

Employment Type: Contract

Hourly pay: $50 to $60 per hour

Job Summary:

The People Program Consultant supports various Human Resource programs tied to the long-term goals of the department. The incumbent will focus on the human aspects of organizational change, such as company culture, structure, and internal processes. This position performs professional work of considerable difficulty overseeing a range of administrative functions related to People department management, department development and internal customer service. This position also creates and conducts change management initiatives and procedural training resources for departmental staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Researches, prepares, and executes various human resource programs and change management initiatives.

  • Communicating change: Ensuring that changes are communicated effectively to employees

  • Writes and revises standard operating procedures and change management specifications.

  • Develops HR training program resources, guidelines and project plans

  • Training and development: Introducing programs to help employees upskill and align their skills with the organization's needs

  • Improving communication: Providing clear guidance and driving communication across the organization

  • Tracking employee engagement: Collecting feedback during transitions and tracking stakeholder engagement

  • Minimizing adverse effects: Minimizing the adverse effects of organizational changes and optimizing positive results

  • Supporting employees: Ensuring that employees are supported throughout the transition

  • Researches, analyzes data and prepares quarterly reports on HR trends, new HR project suggestions and current program goals and progress.

  • Develops, reviews and revises program policies and procedures.

  • Provides advice and counsel to department heads, managers and staff on updating and interpreting programs.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, dynamics of employee development and professional growth, and training program design and presentation.

  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.

  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.

  • Ability to plan, organize and present training activities to diverse employee groups.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, management or a related field and four years of human resource work experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
