About the Position
As a Remote Portuguese/Brazilian Portuguese Interpreter, you will provide accurate and efficient interpretation in various settings, facilitating effective communication between English and Portuguese/Brazilian Portuguese speakers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide over-the-phone and video consecutive interpretation in medical, legal, and social service environments.
Accurately convey messages while maintaining professional neutrality and confidentiality.
Research terminology to ensure a thorough understanding of specialized fields.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to bridge gaps between diverse backgrounds.
What We’re Looking For:
Bilingual Excellence: Native-level or near-native fluency in both Portuguese/Brazilian Portuguese and English (C1/C2 level).
Professionalism: Ability to handle high-pressure or sensitive situations with grace.
Core Skills: Outstanding listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.
Experience: Previous interpretation experience is preferred, but we welcome all highly skilled candidates!
Technical & Professional Standards
To ensure the highest quality for our clients, the following setup is required:
💻 Workspace & Hardware:
OS: Windows 10/11 or macOS 12.7+ (fully updated). Note: Remote/Virtual PCs are not permitted.
Specs: CPU Intel 6th Gen (i5-6xxx) or AMD equivalent; 8GB RAM minimum.
Internet: Wired connection via Starlink, xDSL, Coaxial, or Fiber. (No LTE/4G or Wi-Fi).
Audio/Video: USB wired headset with uni-directional mic; 1080p camera.
🎥 Professional Presence:
Background: Solid white or blue background with good lighting (ring lights recommended).
Attire: Formal business attire (e.g., blouses, formal shirts/ties).
