Postdoctoral Fellow – CCI Research and Innovation Center

The University of Tennessee, Knoxvilleinvites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the College of Communication and Information (CCI)’s Research and Innovation Center.

The anticipated annual salary for this position is $75,000.00 depending on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and suitability. This position is eligible for the standard University benefits package.
The Position:The postdoctoral fellow will work with a research team funded by the DoD Minerva initiative. The fellow’s work will focus on facilitating and assisting with the team on several research projects involving malign influences of foreign governments on democracies. The postdoc fellowship will be appointed for a 1½ year term beginning in January of 2025. Applicants may come from any field in the social sciences, humanities, business, or engineering. The PI of the Minerva grant award, Dr. Catherine Luther, will serve as the lead mentor and supervisor. Working remotely from a location in the United States will be considered.
Qualifications
The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to:
- Participate in idea-generation research team meetings
- Assist in the research and drafting of literature reviews for academic papers
- Assist in drafting white papers based on research studies conducted
- Assist with the preparation of annual reports to the funding agency, take meeting minutes, co-present studies emanating from the grant-funded research.
To be successful in this role, candidates are required to possess:
- Doctoral degree in the social sciences, humanities, business, or engineering fields by December of 2024.
- Elementary proficiency in the Russian language.
