The Opportunity

Lonestar Forklift is looking for a Preventative Maintenance Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking, planning, and identifying machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

As the Preventative Maintenance Technician for Lonestar, your key responsibilities will include:  

  • Performing planned mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery for our customers
  • Collaborating with the Shop Lead, Shop Coordinator, Service Manager, or Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
  • Actively communicating with the Field Dispatcher following service jobs
  • Communicating with the Parts department via phone or email to ensure parts are ordered as needed; tracking and following up on parts for ongoing jobs
  • Reviewing and discussing job details with customers before and after completing service jobs, including providing recommendations on additional repair opportunities
  • Accurately identifying estimated labor times
  • Seeking out additional repair opportunities on retail jobs
  • Completing work order forms and warranty paperwork as required
  • Adhering to the Lonestar Safety Program

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:  

  • Prior experience in comparable role and in a related industry
  • Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel to customer sites in the region
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills for mechanical and technical concepts
  • A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
