As a Principal HRIS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) platforms with a primary focus on UKG. This position requires a deep understanding of HR systems, integrations, and payroll processes. You will collaborate closely with our IT department and other stakeholders to enhance system capabilities and ensure seamless functionality across our corporate systems.

What you will be responsible for:

System Management and Optimization:

    • Lead the management and ongoing maintenance of the HRIS systems, primarily UKG, ensuring optimal performance.
    • Evaluate and implement system upgrades and feature enhancements working with UKG and internal IT resources.
    • Develop and modify system processes to increase efficiency and user satisfaction, including configuration of custom fields, workflows and processes.
    • Leads the delivery of complex data reports, dashboards and/or summaries to support business decisions.

Integration and Development:

    • Work closely with IT specialists to design and implement robust integrations between UKG and other corporate systems such as payroll, benefits, and finance platforms.
    • Develop custom reports and interfaces according to the operational needs of the HR department and compliance requirements.
    • Ensure data integrity and security across all HRIS platforms and integrations.

Project Management:

    • Lead HRIS projects from conception through implementation, including gathering requirements, designing solutions, overseeing development, and deploying systems.
    • Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication to ensure project success.

Training and Support:

    • Provide training, technical support and troubleshooting to HRIS users across the organization, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing the systems effectively.
    • Documents and tests system upgrades, enhancements, or integration with systems to ensure adequate information security, data integrity, and continued functionality.
    • Develop user manuals and training materials as needed.

Compliance and Best Practices:

    • Ensures HRIS compliance with relevant data protection laws and regulations and completes Federal and State mandate reporting requirements within the required deadlines.
    • Manages system data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends in HR technology to propose and implement innovative solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in HRIS roles with a strong focus on UKG platforms.
  • Proven experience in integrating HRIS systems with other business management software such as PlanSource and Cloudpay.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead projects independently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with BI preferred.
  • HR Service Delivery (UKG People Assist) experience preferred.
