Job Description

Turnitin is a pioneer in education technology with its roots in academic integrity, delivering flexible assessment solutions to higher education institutions, high schools, and graduate programs. With the broadest and deepest applications of AI for education, Turnitin is building innovative new products for the next decade of education. We are seeking an experienced Principal Program Manager to help us increase our velocity to deliver knowledge, products, and capabilities to help educational institutions combat academic integrity misconduct while also embracing the power and possibility that generative writing tools bring to expand writing skills.

You will be responsible for mapping, building, and managing cross-functional decisions, processes, mechanisms, and dependencies across multiple products and teams. You will work closely with the technology teams, product teams, marketing teams, and legal team to drive and track product initiatives across the company. You will directly influence various stakeholder groups to drive effective and efficient cross-org communications, strategies, and alignment.

The ideal candidate will be an adaptable, data-driven, self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced, complex environments. You have demonstrated a talent for self-guided learning, rapidly acquiring and applying knowledge and new skills in nuanced situations. You have a record of defining, developing, and using metrics and analytics to manage execution and deliver objectives, including developing KPIs. You are adept at building trust amongst cross-functional teams in a high-growth environment. You create plans and schedules, identify and proactively mitigate risks, and manage changes. You will operate at the tactical level and will stretch your strategic capabilities by connecting big concepts with operational plans.

The ideal candidate will also have experience working in the education industry and managing complex technical programs or projects. We are looking for a talented communicator, both written and verbal, with a strong point of view. This team values hotly-debated topics, risk articulation, and creative options instead of slide-building skills and status meetings.

Key Responsibilities and Outputs:

  • Lead the development and execution of program plans, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the Turnitin organization including the technology teams, product teams, marketing teams, and the legal team to organize and facilitate data-driven change management.

  • Lead and contribute to the development, documentation, and management of processes, mechanisms, reporting, and narratives for new and existing products.
  • Lead program scoping efforts to define overall scope, high-level requirements, and stakeholders for different program aspects.
  • Serve as a change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization centered on consultation around process and continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to regularly flex schedule across global time zones to further One Team collaboration and execute within a global function.
