Pinterest is looking for a thoughtful Product Designer II, with a passion for system thinking and crafting reusable UI components, to join our Gestalt Design System team. You’ll partner with our platform engineering teams and with other Gestalt designers to evolve the design system that is the foundation of everything we build here at Pinterest.
You have a knack for visual details as much as holistic systems thinking. You’re a problem solver, and your designs reflect your ability to think about the whole design system.
What you’ll do:
- Design reusable UI components for iOS, Android, and Web - you will take into account platform considerations.
- Collaborate closely with our platform engineers as they implement component designs, answering questions and problem solving tricky edge cases.
- Improve our Figma libraries, utilizing the latest Figma features, so they are intuitive to use for product designers at Pinterest.
- Create design tokens to capture reusable styles and organize them for future use.
- Create clear guidelines and documentation for our components and patterns, that guide product designer to utilize them correctly.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working on a design system is a must.
- Experience creating component libraries in Figma is essential. Understanding the latest features within Figma is also highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the general product design process - specifically how they relate to using Figma in their day-to-day work.
- Approaches work with a team-first mindset with a focus on best-idea-wins. Ability to collect input/feedback and synthesize into recommendations.
- Strong communication is a must. In addition, an aptitude in writing is highly preferred.

In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
