Koch Capabilities, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic product safety and regulatory compliance manager to monitor and engage on key emerging chemical regulatory issues in Europe in support of Koch’s diverse portfolio of businesses. In this role, you will be monitoring key regulatory and legislative changes, anticipating and interpreting regulation and legislation, advising on compliance strategies, and engaging with industry associations and key partners.
The position must be based in Europe.
Our Team
You will join a global team of contribution-motivated product safety and regulatory compliance experts who lead and manage complex product safety matters and provide strategic advice and solutions relating to risk. The team consists of experienced product safety managers who stay abreast of regulatory and legislative issues related to products, think creatively and collaboratively to solve problems and foster a culture of compliance and principled entrepreneurship, and effectively communicate within our businesses to enable timely, informed decision making.
What You Will Do
Monitor and engage with internal and external stakeholders on emerging chemical regulatory issues for a variety of Koch companies. This includes:
- Providing strategic and technical advice to businesses on product safety and regulatory matters;
- Monitoring and analyzing the regulatory landscape and emerging trends in the region and communicating the potential risks and opportunities for our companies;
- Identifying, engaging, and actively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, industry associations, customers, suppliers, and non-governmental organizations, on key initiatives;
- Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and tools that align with our values and management philosophy to ensure consistency across the enterprise; and
- Leading and managing key projects and initiatives related to chemical regulatory issues, such as product risk assessments, research & development, customer engagement strategies, and due diligence to support business development opportunities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, or related science or political science, (experience may be substituted for education)
- Knowledge of European and global product safety regulations and standards, such as REACH, CLP, GHS, SVHC, WEEE, ELV, and RoHS
- Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment across multiple time zones
What Will Put You Ahead
- Strong, demonstrated experience in product compliance, product safety, regulatory affairs, or similar role in the chemical, consumer products, or manufacturing industry
- Knowledge and/or experience with chemical and/or fertilizer regulations and registrations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional and cross-jurisdictional teams
- Proactive, analytical, and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenges.
- Economic and critical thinking (demonstrated ability to seek & apply the challenge process, collaborate / integrate thoughts from others while driving convergence on broadly acceptable solutions)
- Skilled in building relationships and collaborating with others (both internally and externally)
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, ability to learn independently from multiple sources to an expert level
- Strong time/project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Success in communicating technical information to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to gain alignment through coordination with key customers / leaders at all levels of operations & business leadership
- Demonstrated success in a cross-capability team environment (lead and contributor)
- Ability to travel, attend events, and trade association meetings as value dictates (estimated 10% or more)
