Job Summary

Landis + Gyr is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager to lead software development efforts. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of all stages of the development life cycle, have demonstratable experience executing multiple complex projects within a stage gate & agile methodology to ensure that all deliverables are completed and approved by project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, control, and coordinate the activities of a project core team to produce deliverables agreed upon with executive and/or functional management.
    • Manage the project(s) and execute activities around the boundaries of scope, schedule, risks, and cost.
    • Utilize the PMO's New Product Introduction (NPI) procedures and processes to develop new products and/or services for L+G.
    • Report project status to the PMO and other stakeholders.
    • Work within a stage gate methodology
    • Manage external, internal and capital project costs.
    • Scrum management and metric analysis for Agile projects
    • Ensure all internal stakeholders (Finance, Sales, Operations, Product Management, executive management) are apprised of status, KPIs, issues, and risks
    • Perform other tasks or requests as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of project management scheduling SW tools (Microsoft Project and/ or PSNext)
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, & listening).
    • Understands how to measure audience and craft communications to meet their needs.
    • Uses listening skills to completely understand tough situations and help resolve them.
    • Excellent leadership qualities and the ability to make decisions without perfect information.
    • Strong ability to resolve conflicts between members of project team or as needed throughout the organization.
    • Excellent organizational abilities needed as multiple projects will be assigned.
    • Excellent change management skills. Ability to accept change and respond to setbacks with minimal disruptions.
    • Strong understanding of product development methodologies (Waterfall & Agile) and increment release planning
    • Strong negotiating skills for working with stakeholders.
    • Experience managing remote teams in different time zones

Accountabilities

  • working with cross functional teams to ensure products are launched on time and within budget.
    • Ability to travel as needed to support project activities.
    • Ability to positively influence others without direct authority in efforts to move assigned projects forward

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or 10 years of Project Management Experience
    • 3-5 years’ experience in project management leading software product development
    • Experience in the utility, telecommunications or similarly regulated industries is a plus.
    • PMP Certified or on track to get within the next year
    • Strong working knowledge of stage gate & waterfall methodology

• Utility Experience a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements/Safety/PPE/OHSAS:

  • Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc.

• Driving Status:

  • Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English.     • Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company. If required, must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boats, gloves, hearing protection, and others.

Pay is in the range of $81,400 - $126,800 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
