What we are looking for:
As a Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of energy storage systems in the BPS, Co-Op, and Commercial and Industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will work with project engineers, supply chain, and development to identify scope/responsibilities, mitigate risk, prepare budgets, bids, contracts, funding requests, and communication plans. The Project Manager will supervise and schedule execution of projects in coordination with Stems customers. You will thrive on communication, schedules, milestones, and delivering solutions on time. You will bring order to a fast-paced growth environment and act as a point of contact for large projects and more in-depth customer needs.
As the Project Manager you will be the liaison between Engineering and Technical Sales to document and refine product requirements, milestones, and deliverables and translate this into actionable and achievable project plans. From these plans, the Project Manager will coordinate internally with Engineering, Development, and Operations to fulfill projects on time and within the project budget.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Sales, Technical Sales, Engineering, Operations and Software Development to ensure complete and detailed engineering requirements for energy storage system delivery and integration.
- Build project plans and manage projects from purchase order to commercial operation.
- Prepare and present project status to stakeholders, leadership, and external customers.
- Effectively coordinate EPCs, O&Ms, Partners and end customer resources while managing expectations, delivery scope, approach, timelines, risks, and resources.
- Coordinate internal resources developing accountability and clarity in scope and timeline for each stakeholder.
- Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
- Communicate regularly with Technical Sales and the customer to manage expectations.
- Work with field service to efficiently organize field activities.
- Work with equipment suppliers for technical support and commissioning management
- Develop tools for and report periodically internally and externally on health of projects.
- Develop tools to understand and manage resource loading across the organization.
- Host periodic project meetings – internal and with customer.
- Develop project life-cycle process and checklists for engineering projects.
- Track project costs and process change orders with sales and the customer as needed.
- Identify gaps and interface with engineering, operations, development, and the customer to drive resolution.
- Help to define and refine internal processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- PMP certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing the deployment of projects supported by functional teams of engineering, manufacturing and logistics in the power industry.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the power or renewable energy sector, including generator utility interconnection experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a customer facing role, preferably Project Management or Construction Management.
- Electrical power system literacy, specifically electrical circuit diagram comprehension, with a focus on design review process in the context of power system design in addition to controls and networking
- Strong written, verbal, and customer account management skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions on programs to internal and external representatives.
- Experience in vendor management and supply chain a plus.
- Ability to understand and communicate both technical and business information.
- Able to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- Office Setting, primarily in cubicles.
- Travel by car, air, train.
- Moderate to high noise levels (i.e. business office with computers, phone, printers, moderate traffic).
- Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to uphold the stress of traveling.
Salary Range
